skatc asked: I’ve got a laptop with one physical drive that used to have a single Windows NTFS partition. I was trying to create a second partition but it crashed in the process and destroyed my sole Windows partition instead. No recovery disk (hangs head in shame).
PC Inspector looks like a good recovery tool, *if* I had a second harddrive with Windows on it. Are there any tools that I could run from a bootable CD instead?
Or, could I remove my laptop’s harddrive and attach it to a friend’s laptop to perform the restore? Would this void the warranty or pose significant danger to their hardware? I’ve moved harddrives with desktop PCs before, but laptop hardware is new to me.
