Amanda - asked: I need to network my computer to my friends’ computer to share a large amount of files. Mine is an Apple laptop and hers is a PC Desktop. I also have a PC Desktop but none of the files that she needs is on that computer. Please help! How do we go about doing that? I heard from another friend that you have to have each others IP Addresses. Is that true? Thanks!!

shiftyklyde asked: Whenever I search for video cards, all I find are cards for desktop PCs. I can’t find anywhere that sells video cards for notebook computers. I searched nvidia’s website and I know that they manufacture video cards for notebooks, but I want to buy just the card, not an entire notebook computer that has the card already installed. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

sg-7 asked: I have a Belkin Wireless G Router 2.4GHz 802.11g. I’ve plugged in my Broadband modem to one port and my desktop to another. So I can share the internet connection or even files between two computers provided that one of the them are wireless. So I can share files between my desktop and the wireless laptop. But when I plug in my laptop to one of the other LAN ports on the router I can’t get my laptop and desktop (both connected to the router) to share files. Anyone know how to fix this?

grotto3b asked: I feel stupid. I bought a used emachine sold on ebay with no O/S, assuming that the old discs from my emachine that had died would work, which they did not , which was probably why it got dumped on ebay to begin with. Is there such a thing? I have seen them advertised. I’m not an Emachine fan so please don’t bomb me with that again. I’m just trying to “recover”and already looking at new PCs.

Zulu asked: We have a laptop & desktop. We bought a DSL router to connect them to the net at the same time. It keeps messing up. It’ll stay connected for a few minutes, then boot both computers off the internet. The LED lights still say that the internet is on, but my pcs aren’t getting a signal most of the time. We’re using a regular router (not wireless) Does anyone know what the problem is?

Sathish N asked: I need to connect my desktop and laptop for file sharing. My desktop does not have an ethernet card. Found in some sites that an USB cross-link cable shall be used to setup a Direct Cable Connection between two PCs. Please let me know the step-by-step method to do the same and also some good brands of this type of cable.
