PostHeaderIcon What is the best way to connect two PCs to transfer video files?

desktop pcs
Lisa asked:

I need to transfer a lot of very large files (video files) from my laptop to a desktop. Both are running Windows XP. I have an ethernet cable, but I read something about having to have a crossover cable. Is there an easy way to transfer just these files without buying extra networking equipment?
Let me also note that the desktop PC only has a dial-up connection, so transferring files via the internet is impossible.

starfire asked:

I know the Desktop would have to be bluetooth capable but other than that would it work? The package states Exclusively for Bluetooth Notebook PCs. This was a Christmas gift and I don’t want to open it if it will not work.

PostHeaderIcon Why won’t my home wifi network work with my desktop PC?

desktop pcs
edthespartan asked:

I’ve got a Linksys wireless-G wifi router with 3 computers connected to it: 2 notebooks connected by wifi and a desktop PC connected by an ethernet cable. The notebook PCs can file share, but I can’t get them to file share with the desktop (or visa versa). What am I doing wrong?
