????????? asked:

I am trying to get some information for a project. I need to set up a network that will support about 15 desktop PCs and about 30 wireless laptops. I would also like to use a server to group all of this together. What are the steps to put this together. I do not want to use a linksys wireless router. It crashes the network too much.

Anoop K asked:

The specs say: 350 Watts, DC 12V, 100-240V. It is a Rackable server.

Are there special / different power cables to use with servers than desktop PCs?
Where can I find the power cable with the above specs. I tried ebay with not much luck.

Jim T asked:

When bundling CAT5E (or CAT6) cables together in a commercial (plenum) office space (and these cables will be used to link standard office desktop PCs running on a typical 10/100 Mbps network), is there a standard (568B?) that states the maximum number of cables that should be bundled together that is run any distance (say greater than 10 feet)?

The Mama asked:

I have only worked on a wirelesss home network with PC Dell laptops and am now ready to buy a desktop. It has been recommended that I get a MAC, but I don’t know if it would be compatable with the PCs. I would not want the MAC desktop to be wireless.

How do you safely store away old desktop PCs for later use? In a box? Do you wrap it on something? Thanks! ^_^

iamtoohotfortv2000 asked:

I have an old Win 98 PC that did not survive my last move (sadly). My main PC is a Win XP PC, but I wanted my good ole Win 98 SE PC to play older DOS-based games.

I am going to build another old Win 98 PC, but how do I safely store it away after building it? I am in a dry state now, so static is an issue and I cannot find any huge anti-static bags to shield it. I was thinking of storing it on a box, but is that a good idea? Do I wrap it in a towel??

Can anyone help since every search engine keeps giving me idiot results when I make different querries??

Thanks! ^_^
I understand, but won’t the HDs get static damage? When you buy HDs retail, they are wrapped in anti-static, so should my HDs stored in the destop also be bagged??

I am storing my Desktop in a closet in the house. ;)
Thanks for the tips! ^_^
*** Additional question (within the question) ***

It is about static. Are you all sure static doesn’t affect the Hard Drives when stored away in a box, in a carpeted closet???

Thanks for the info, y’all! ^_^
